Named after the famous Georgian painter Niko Pirosmanashvili (1862-1918) (known
as Pirosmani) this is a different incarnation of Saperavi, still with its typical inky dark
red colour, but here left with just a touch of sweetness.
It’s not noticeably sweet to taste, but just has a lovely, soft, round style, appealing and
easy to drink. Ripe bramble and damson fruit notes are overlaid with a hint of spice
and just enough grip on the finish.
Enjoyable with hearty rustic cooking–chunky soups, stews and baked cheese dishes.
Recommended serving temperature is 10-12°C.
